We know that you are here because you have an appreciation for great classical music, and that you share the desire to see the Tampa Bay community thrive and be recognized as one of America's great cities. You’re here because you understand the value of having a resident professional symphony orchestra in your community and how important it is for the image and integrity of a city. You appreciate that it enhances the quality of life in the community and provides a level of culture which might otherwise be lacking. You know that the presence of culture increases the potential for economic development, enriches the education of our children. And, you recognize that resident creative artists add character to our neighborhoods.

The fact is that all great cities known for their culture have recognized professional symphony orchestras. And in order for this area to be known as one of the nations great cities it must have a respected orchestra. That orchestra must be a cultural gem, be considered valuable, and insured a shining future.
To that end, the resident professional symphony orchestra in the Tampa Bay area, The Florida Orchestra, faces some real challenges -- most prominently, the need for a reliable rehearsal and performance space in which to bring quality music to its audience. Without this the orchestra's future existence is in question. But we believe that in challenges lie great opportunities, and our orchestra is perched on the brink of great opportunity.
The concerns about the future of the Florida Orchestra and its ability to grow and prosper in our community lie at the heart of what da CAPO is all about. A group of concerned citizens has gathered to initiate a grassroots campaign within the Tampa Bay community that will lead to the enhanced recognition and acceptance of the Florida Orchestra as an essential element of the cultural fabric of the community.
And it is people like YOU, citizens who truly care about their community, who can provide the necessary leadership to transform this campaign into reality. Your support, your participation and your passion can help make a difference in the quality of life here.
